The pavé technique is a favourite in our atelier, transforming jewellery into masterpieces that maximise the light of each gemstone. Originating from the French word for “paved”, this intricate method is rooted in 18th-century European jewellery design, where artisans sought to create expression shimmering with closely set stones.

Setting small diamonds close together creates a continuous surface with meticulously crafted prongs that keep each stone in place, while enhancing light exposure and the sparkle of each stone. Every piece tells a story of light and beauty, reflecting Mia Guldberg’s dedication to capturing the best possible light in every stone. FRENCH SETTING

a commitment to every stone

French setting, also known as fishtail, involves crafting V-shaped prongs that cradle each small diamond, allowing maximum light exposure from multiple angles. This meticulous arrangement results in a seamless, glittering surface that radiates elegance.
